What kind of fish can I keep in a fish bowl?
I have already had beta fish but I'm tired of them. I had two and they both died at 3 months old. They both had ick! But I found out my problem, the water I use from my sink has chlorine in it! Duh! But I don't want another Beta there so boring! My fish bowl is actually I giant squiggally vase like this one! http://images.replacements.com/images/images5/crystal/F/fostoria_navarre_clear_bud_vase_P0000026121S0126T2.jpg exept mine is clear. What can I have in there? If nessisary, I will buy and ordinary round fishbowl. Can I have snails or crabs? Or are betas the only fish that don't need filters?
eh, I'm tired of fish! I have had fish since I was four. Now I'm hanging the question to wha kinds of animals can I keep in a fish bowl without a filter! Can I have frogs? Snails? Crayfish? Crabs?

Fostoria, Ohio:: Volume II $18.55 Fostoria, Ohio, was formed in 1854 with the merger of Risdon to the north and Rome to the south. It was named after Charles W. Foster, a local businessman who served as the town's first mayor. A town of 15,000 in northwestern Ohio, it is known around the world for its many railroads and, at one time, many glass factories including the well-known Fostoria glassware. "As the great City of Fostoria celebrates its 'Sesquicentennial' we all look forward to our next 150 years, but at the same time look back on where we have been. Paul Krupp's first book on Fostoria gave a great historical and yet personable account of Fostoria. Volume 2 continues with more wonderful insights of the rich heritage of our great city." -Mayor John Davoli, City of Fostoria, Ohio. |

In the Clear $9.31 On her seventh birthday, Pauline rode across the lawns on her street followed by her best friend Henry, he on the blue wooden horse, she on the red. On the seventh lawn at the top of the street, she collapsed, becoming a sudden victim of the polio outbreak of the summer of 1954. Five years later, when In the Clear begins, she has survived, but paid a heavy price. A brace on her left leg allows her to walk, but she confines herself to her house, humiliated at the notion of being seen. Terrified by what Pauline has already suffered, her mother watches over her, forbidding her to play hockey on the ice rink her father has created in the backyard. In the Clear alternates, chapter by chapter, between Pauline's horror-filled year in the hospital five years earlier and her struggles to adapt in the present of 1959 and 1960. At the end of the book, her triumphs in past and present come together and she is able to move forward with new friendships, a renewed bond with her mother and, most important, a new faith in herself. Anne Laurel Carter is a hockey fan who had an ice rink in her own childhood Don Mills, Ontario backyard. She remembers her parents' stories about the polio "Summer Plague" in 1953. When she discovered that her favorite children's librarian had survived an iron lung herself, she was inspired to write In the Clear. In 1999, Anne won the Vicky Metcalf Award for her short story, Leaving the Iron Lung. This story would later become In the Clear. While this is Anne Laurel Carter's first novel for Orca, she is the author of a YA novel, The Girl on Evangeline Beach, and a picturebook, Tall in the Saddle (Orca, 1999), a Canadian Children's Book Centre "Our Choice" selection. She is a full-time writer living in Toronto, who still has a hockey rink in her backyard every winter. |

Clear $9.29 On September 5 2003 illusionist David Blaine entered a small Perspex box adjacent to London's Thames River and began starving himself. Forty-four days later on October 19 he left the box fifty pounds lighter. That much at least is clear. And the rest? The crowds? The chaos? The hype? The rage? The fights? The lust? The filth? The bullshit? The hypocrisy? Nicola Barker fearlessly crams all that and more into this ribald and outrageous peep show of a novel her most irreverent caustic up-to-the-minute work yet laying bare the heart of our contemporary world a world of illusion delusion celebrity and hunger. |
